First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tested whether an 8-week mindfulness program could reduce depression and improve thinking in new mothers with depressive symptoms. 70 Chinese women who had given birth within the last 1.5 years took part. Half attended weekly mindfulness sessions, while the other half received a booklet with basic mental health information. The goal was to see if mindfulness offers a safe, drug-free way to help mothers feel better.
