First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving a single dose of methadone during laparoscopic or robotic hysterectomy can lower the amount of opioid painkillers needed after surgery. The goal is to reduce opioid overprescription and the risk of abuse. About 100 adults having a hysterectomy for non-cancer reasons will take part. Half will get methadone during surgery, and the other half will get standard short-acting opioids.
