First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether metformin, a standard diabetes drug, can safely improve movement and quality of life in people with Parkinson's disease. Researchers will give metformin or a placebo to 60 adults aged 50 and older who already take levodopa/carbidopa. The goal is to see if adding metformin helps control Parkinson's symptoms better than standard care alone.
