MRI muscle score may predict liver patient survival

NCT ID NCT05264051

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special MRI scan that measures muscle health and frailty can help predict serious outcomes like death or the need for a liver transplant in people with liver disease. Researchers will follow 1,200 patients who are already getting an MRI for routine care. The goal is to see if the muscle assessment score (MAsS) can serve as an early warning tool.
