First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This Phase 2 study tests whether the drug MAR001 can lower blood fat levels after a meal in adults with high triglycerides. Thirty participants will receive either MAR001 or a placebo injection. The main goal is to see if MAR001 reduces the rise in triglycerides and remnant cholesterol after eating.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- MAR001 (a drug given as a shot under the skin)
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could lead to a new treatment to lower high fat levels in the blood after eating, potentially reducing heart disease risk.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early Phase 2 trial with only 30 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The drug may not lower fat levels better than placebo, and side effects are still being studied.
