Knee realignment surgery: what happens to the kneecap years later?

NCT ID NCT06251752

First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study follows 50 people who had knee realignment surgery (high tibial osteotomy) for early knee arthritis to see how the kneecap joint changes over the long term. Researchers will measure kneecap height and arthritis progression using X-rays and patient questionnaires. The goal is to better understand the effects of this surgery on the kneecap, which is not well studied.
