Blood test breakthrough? new study aims to track deadly brain tumors without surgery
NCT ID NCT07420543
First seen Feb 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study is testing whether a blood or urine test can detect signals from brain tumors, especially glioblastoma. Researchers will use a special dye (5-ALA) that makes tumor cells glow during surgery to help link what's seen in the blood to the actual tumor. The goal is to develop a simple, non-invasive way to monitor the disease and guide treatment. About 30 adults with brain tumors will participate.
