Heart failure patients may ditch thirsty restrictions

NCT ID NCT05931614

First seen Mar 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether people with heart failure can safely drink as much fluid as they want, instead of limiting it. About 326 adults with heart failure will either follow a restricted fluid plan or drink freely. The goal is to see if free drinking is safe and improves quality of life without causing fluid buildup or hospital visits.
