New study to settle: laser or PRP for acne scars?
NCT ID NCT07189923
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study will compare two common treatments for acne scars: ablative fractional CO2 laser and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with microneedling. 116 adults with moderate to severe atrophic acne scars will receive each treatment on opposite sides of their face. The goal is to see which method improves scars more effectively and safely.

What this could lead to
If this works, it could show which treatment is better for reducing acne scars, helping doctors choose the most effective option.
