Blood clot breakthrough: natural gel may speed healing after tooth surgery
NCT ID NCT05847647
First seen Mar 02, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether a natural substance made from a patient's own blood (called L-PRF) can improve bone and gum healing after dental surgery for long-lasting tooth infections. Fifteen adults with infections that didn't go away with standard root canal treatment received surgery, and some also got L-PRF placed in the surgical site. The goal was to see if L-PRF leads to better healing over 12 months.
