First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compared two hands-on therapies—Strain Counter Strain and Myofascial Release—for people with knee osteoarthritis. 44 adults aged 40 to 65 with grade 2 knee osteoarthritis took part. The goal was to see which technique better reduces pain and improves daily function and quality of life.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Manual therapy techniques (Strain Counter Strain and Myofascial Release)

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward effective non-drug options for easing pain and improving movement in knee osteoarthritis.

What could go wrong

This is a small, completed trial with only 44 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The therapies are compared to each other, not to a placebo or standard care, limiting what we can conclude.
