NCT ID NCT05633966

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tested whether a natural hormone called kisspeptin can help women with hypothalamic amenorrhea (a condition where periods stop due to stress, low weight, or over-exercise) release eggs. Thirteen women received daily injections of kisspeptin for two weeks. Researchers used ultrasound and blood tests to see if the hormone triggered egg growth or ovulation. The goal was to understand if kisspeptin could be a future treatment for infertility in these women.
