Could a natural hormone restart periods in women with hypothalamic amenorrhea?

NCT ID NCT07224438

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether kisspeptin, a natural hormone, can trigger the release of other reproductive hormones and help women with hypothalamic amenorrhea (missing periods) release eggs. Twenty women will receive daily injections of kisspeptin for two weeks, with frequent blood tests and ultrasounds to monitor their response. The goal is to see if this treatment can restore normal reproductive function.
