Missed periods may signal hidden heart risk in young women
NCT ID NCT05629377
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at women with hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA), a condition where periods stop for months or years due to stress, exercise, or weight loss. Researchers want to see if HA is linked to early signs of heart disease. About 90 women will wear FitBits and answer surveys to track stress, activity, and sleep. The goal is to understand which HA patterns are tied to heart and blood vessel problems.
