NIH scans brains to unlock Ketamine's rapid depression relief

Summary

This study looks at how ketamine works in the brain to treat depression quickly. Researchers will use brain scans and other tests to understand why a single dose can lift mood within hours. About 150 adults with major depression and healthy volunteers will take part, receiving ketamine or placebo infusions while their brain activity is measured.
