NCT ID NCT05786066

First seen May 18, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at how ketamine reduces suicidal thoughts in people with depression, bipolar disorder, or PTSD. Researchers want to see if blocking a specific brain receptor (AMPA) stops ketamine from working. 30 adults with current suicidal thoughts will receive ketamine with either a placebo or a drug that blocks AMPA receptors. The goal is to understand the brain mechanism, not to test a new treatment.
