NCT ID NCT05345106
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at how iron levels in the brain, gut bacteria, and blood sugar are connected to thinking skills in people with and without obesity. Researchers will measure brain iron, gut microbes, glucose patterns, and cognitive function in 138 adults aged 30-65. Some participants will be followed for a year after weight loss from diet or surgery. The goal is to understand these relationships, not to test a treatment.
