This study looked at whether high-intensity breathing exercises (inspiratory muscle training) can improve blood vessel function and artery stiffness in people with heart disease before they start cardiac rehab. Eleven adults who had heart surgery or related conditions took part. For 4 weeks, some did strong breathing exercises while others did a sham version. The goal was to see if this simple training could help the heart and blood vessels work better.
