Summary
This study was designed to look at how the immune system might contribute to heart valve damage in people with infective endocarditis, a serious bacterial infection of the heart. Researchers planned to analyze blood and heart valve tissue from patients to see if immune cells mistakenly attack the heart. However, the study was withdrawn before enrolling any participants, so no results are available.
