No-Surgery weight loss: new stitch procedure tested in 186 people
NCT ID NCT06272201
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a minimally invasive procedure called POSE2.0 for weight loss in 186 adults with obesity. The procedure uses stitches placed in the stomach without any incisions, combined with a diet and exercise program. Researchers will compare weight loss and safety between those who get the procedure plus lifestyle changes and those who only follow the diet and exercise program.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
POSE2.0 procedure with g-Cath EZ Delivery Catheter and Snowshoe Suture Anchors
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a less invasive weight loss option for people with obesity who haven't had success with diet and exercise alone.
What could go wrong
This is a pivotal study, but results may not apply to everyone. The procedure carries risks like any medical intervention, and long-term weight loss success is not guaranteed.
