Scientists grow mini immune systems to fight kids' cancers

NCT ID NCT05890781

Summary

This study aims to create 3D models called 'immune organoids' from children's own cells to better understand how pediatric cancers interact with the immune system. Researchers will use tissue samples from up to 108 patients aged 25 or younger with brain tumors, kidney tumors, neuroblastoma, or sarcoma. The goal is to build laboratory models that mimic the tumor environment, which could help future research but doesn't directly treat participants.
