New brain scan study aims to spot hidden tau in rare dementias

Summary

This study uses a special PET scan to measure tau protein buildup in the brains of people with frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) and atypical Alzheimer's disease, compared to healthy adults. Researchers hope to improve how these conditions are diagnosed and understood. About 72 participants will be enrolled.
