Can ketamine repair brain connections in depression and PTSD?
NCT ID NCT02734602
First seen Jun 08, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 08, 2026
Summary
This study looks at brain changes in people with major depression or PTSD using special PET scans. Researchers want to see if a single dose of ketamine can reverse the loss of brain connections (synapses) linked to these conditions. The study involves 130 adults who will have MRI and PET scans, with some receiving ketamine during one scan. It is an early-stage research study to understand how the brain changes, not a treatment trial.
