New scan may replace costly imaging for prostate cancer patients

NCT ID NCT06828263

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a special type of scan (LuPSMA-SPECT/CT) can tell doctors early if a targeted radiation therapy is working in men with advanced prostate cancer that no longer responds to hormone therapy. About 130 participants will be followed to see if changes on the scan match how long they live. If successful, this could replace more expensive PET scans and help doctors switch treatments sooner.
