Hypnosis may offer Drug-Free relief for COPD anxiety and breathlessness
NCT ID NCT04868357
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether learning self-hypnosis can help people with severe COPD manage anxiety and shortness of breath during pulmonary rehabilitation. 133 participants took part, with some learning hypnosis techniques in two group sessions. The goal was to see if hypnosis could reduce anxiety and improve breathing comfort, both during rehab and for three months after. If effective, it could provide a simple, complementary tool for symptom relief.
