Horses help calm Autism-Related irritability, study finds

NCT ID NCT04606966

Summary

This study investigated whether therapeutic horseback riding could help reduce problem behaviors and improve social skills in children and teens with autism who also have other mental health conditions. Researchers compared 10 weeks of riding lessons to barn activities without horses to see which was better at easing symptoms like irritability and hyperactivity. They also checked if any benefits lasted six months after the program ended.
