NCT ID NCT02155686

First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tested whether home automation sensors and remote monitoring by doctors could help elderly people (65+) with multiple chronic diseases live safely at home and avoid unplanned hospital stays. Over 500 participants had their homes equipped with sensors to track health signs and detect early warning signs of disease flare-ups. The main goal was to see if this approach reduced hospitalizations for conditions like heart failure, COPD, and diabetes.
