NCT ID NCT06667661
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests a 12-week mobile app program for parents of 3-4 year olds who currently meet few movement guidelines. Children wear activity trackers, and parents get weekly tips and goals through the app. The goal is to see if the app helps kids get more physical activity, better sleep, and less screen time. 80 families will take part, with half using the app right away and the other half waiting.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Shining Star mHealth App (behavioral intervention via mobile app)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, home-based way to help young children develop healthier movement and sleep habits.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study (80 children) with no blinding or long-term follow-up. Results may not apply to all families, and the app may not be engaging enough to change behavior.
