Do HIV drugs cause other health problems? new study investigates

NCT ID NCT03483584

Summary

This study aimed to understand if different types of HIV medications lead to different long-term health issues, like bone, kidney, or metabolic problems, in people living with HIV. Researchers followed 215 newly diagnosed, treatment-naive adults in Hong Kong for up to 5 years after they started medication. They compared the rates of these health problems between people taking two common classes of HIV drugs.
