Could a stronger antibiotic dose keep cellulitis patients out of hospital?

NCT ID NCT05852262

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a higher dose of the oral antibiotic cephalexin can better treat cellulitis, a common skin infection, in adults visiting the emergency room. About 446 participants will receive either a high or standard dose to see if it reduces the need for changing antibiotics or hospitalization. The goal is to improve treatment success and lower healthcare costs.
