NCT ID NCT07532941
First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether children with bacterial infections like urinary tract infections, cellulitis, or pneumonia can safely stop taking oral antibiotics once their symptoms disappear, rather than finishing the entire prescribed course. About 200 children from the Royal Children's Hospital will be enrolled after completing IV antibiotics. Parents will track symptoms daily, and the study will compare how many children need to restart antibiotics within 28 days between the two approaches.
