Can a simple blood test spot hidden heart trouble during High-Pressure oxygen treatment?

NCT ID NCT07492030

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a blood gas measurement (the difference in carbon dioxide between central venous and arterial blood) can accurately diagnose low cardiac output in patients with septic shock from severe skin infections. About 74 adults will be monitored during hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The goal is to see if this test works under high-pressure conditions, helping doctors detect heart problems faster.
