Heart failure risk models put to the test in egypt

NCT ID NCT07194889

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will check if three heart failure risk models (MAGGIC, GWTG-HF, and SHFM) accurately predict outcomes like death and hospital readmission in 140 Egyptian patients. These models were developed using mostly Western patients, so they may not work well for Egyptians, who tend to be younger and have different health issues. Researchers will adjust the models if needed to make them more reliable for local use.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could help doctors in Egypt better predict heart failure outcomes, leading to more personalized care and potentially reducing hospital readmissions.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study that does not test a new treatment. It only checks if existing risk models are accurate for Egyptian patients, so it won't directly improve health outcomes.
