Summary

This study looks at whether giving doctors a special risk score—which combines a person's genes with things like cholesterol and age—helps them make better decisions to prevent heart disease. About 1,000 people at medium risk for heart problems will be randomly assigned to have their doctor see this score or not. The goal is to see if the score leads to more use of cholesterol-lowering drugs or tests, and if it actually lowers cholesterol levels over time.
