NCT ID NCT07553533

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a 60-day nerve stimulation device placed near the back of the head can help people with stubborn headaches. Researchers will track pain levels, daily function, and how often participants need emergency care. About 300 adults with various headache types will take part, and the device is used as part of their normal medical care.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

occipital nerve peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) device

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a temporary, non-drug option for people with hard-to-treat headaches, reducing pain and emergency visits.

What could go wrong

This is an observational study, not a controlled trial, so results may be less reliable. The treatment is temporary (60 days) and may not work for everyone.
