First seen Jun 30, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This pilot study compares recorded gut-directed hypnosis to an educational recording for hospitalized patients with chronic gut problems, such as irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. Participants listen to the recordings over the phone while in the hospital for worsening pain or nausea. The study measures how many people enroll, complete sessions, and fill out follow-up surveys.
