Scientists map gut ecosystem in patients with double trouble infections
NCT ID NCT07122284
Summary
This study aimed to understand how two common gut conditions—Helicobacter pylori infection and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO)—interact when they occur together. Researchers analyzed stool samples from 42 adult patients who had both conditions to map their gut bacteria and metabolic byproducts. The goal was to identify patterns that might explain why these patients often have persistent digestive symptoms and respond poorly to standard treatments.
