Scientists hunt for gut bacteria clues to predict pancreatic cancer spread

NCT ID NCT07161921

Summary

This study aimed to understand if the types of bacteria in a person's gut are linked to whether their pancreatic cancer spreads to nearby lymph nodes. Researchers compared the gut bacteria and related chemicals in 55 patients who had pancreatic cancer with and without this type of spread. The goal was to find patterns that could help doctors identify high-risk patients before surgery to better plan their treatment.
