Summary

This study tests a new device called the GORE ascending stent graft to treat a sudden tear in the main artery from the heart (Type A aortic dissection). About 112 people with this emergency condition will receive the stent graft through a tube in an artery, avoiding open-heart surgery. The goal is to see if the device is safe and effective at sealing the tear and preventing death or stroke within 30 days.
