New hope: natural compound may stop chemo nerve pain
NCT ID NCT05751668
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 06, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a natural substance called GM1 to see if it can prevent nerve damage (pain, numbness, tingling) caused by the chemotherapy drug paclitaxel in people with metastatic breast cancer. About 98 participants will receive either GM1 or a placebo alongside their chemo. The goal is to find a safe dose and see if GM1 helps protect nerves without interfering with cancer treatment.
