Could a diabetes drug boost weight-loss surgery outcomes?

NCT ID NCT07633639

First seen Jun 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a GLP-1 receptor agonist (a type of diabetes and weight-loss drug) after bariatric surgery helps Chinese adults with obesity lose more weight and avoid regaining it. About 200 participants who had sleeve gastrectomy will be randomly assigned to receive the drug or not. The goal is to see if the combination is safer and more effective than surgery alone.
