Heart mapping may spot hidden danger in genetic AFib patients

NCT ID NCT06575881

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at 200 adults with early-onset atrial fibrillation (before age 60) who also have certain genetic changes. Researchers will use cardiac MRI and electrical mapping during a scheduled heart procedure to see if they can identify who is at high risk for dangerous fast heart rhythms called ventricular tachycardia. The goal is to better understand the link between genetics, heart scarring, and arrhythmia risk, not to test a new treatment.
