Quick Pre-Surgery tests may spot frail seniors at risk

NCT ID NCT06988176

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether easy, quick tests for frailty and muscle strength can help predict complications after major abdominal surgery in adults aged 65 and older. About 100 participants will do brief assessments during a routine pre-surgery visit, and researchers will check their recovery at 30 and 90 days. The goal is to see if these simple measures can be used in regular care to identify higher-risk patients.
