First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 12-week program of home-delivered DASH-diet groceries and cooking classes can help adults with high blood pressure and obesity lower their blood pressure and lose weight. 150 participants will be randomly assigned to either the food program or usual care. The study also looks at whether such a program could be used widely in the community.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
DASH-diet food delivery and culinary skill-building sessions
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a practical, community-based program to help people with high blood pressure and obesity eat healthier and improve their health.
What could go wrong
This is a Phase 2 trial with only 150 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The program requires significant effort and access to a smartphone, which could limit participation and success.
