First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether the amount of certain FODMAPs (mannitol and fructans) affects symptom return in people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). After a successful low-FODMAP diet, 45 participants received increasing doses of these FODMAPs in a blinded crossover design. The goal was to find the specific dose that triggers symptoms for each person.
