NCT ID NCT04841746
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding functional electrical stimulation (FES) to cycling exercises helps people who had severe COVID-19 recover faster. 22 patients who needed a breathing machine were split into two groups: one did cycling with FES, the other without. The goal was to see if FES reduced the time spent sitting or lying down each day, helping them regain strength and activity more quickly.
