Smart wristband zaps tremors away in Parkinson's and essential tremor

NCT ID NCT05842434

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This pilot study tested a wrist-worn device called Felix that delivers gentle electrical stimulation to suppress hand tremors. The device uses artificial intelligence to adjust stimulation in real time based on each person's tremor. 38 adults with essential tremor or Parkinson's disease wore the device daily to see if it safely reduces shaking. The study measured tremor severity using standard rating scales.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Felix NeuroAI Wristband (noninvasive neurostimulation device)

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a noninvasive, daily-use option to reduce hand tremors without medication or surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early pilot study with no control group, so results may not be conclusive. The device may not work for everyone or could cause skin irritation.
