First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests two different exercise programs in 40 people with diabetic peripheral neuropathy, a condition that causes numbness and balance problems. One program uses Feldenkrais exercises, which focus on movement awareness, and the other uses task-oriented gait training, which practices walking tasks. Researchers will measure balance, joint position sense, and quality of life over 12 weeks to see which approach works better.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Feldenkrais exercises and task oriented gait training

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show which type of exercise better helps people with diabetic nerve damage improve their balance and reduce falls.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises may not work for all patients.
