Summary

This early study tests a new device made of shape memory polymer that is placed into the false lumen of an aortic dissection to block blood flow and prevent the aorta from growing larger. About 15 adults with type A or B aortic dissection who have not had prior treatment or who need additional treatment will be enrolled. The main goals are to see if the device can be safely delivered and implanted, and to track any serious side effects.
