This study tests whether a wearable exoskeleton—a supportive device worn around the torso—can reduce physical effort and pain for nursing home staff who regularly lift, turn, and bathe residents in bed. Over 11 weeks, 35 care workers across five French nursing homes will wear the device during all bed baths and diaper changes, tracking their perceived exertion and pain daily. The goal is to see if this mechanical support can ease the strain that often leads to musculoskeletal disorders and sick leave in healthcare workers.
